Industries

Cold email by industry, written for the people who buy in yours.

A lawyer, a plant manager and a SaaS founder do not read cold email the same way. FirstSales learns your offer, finds the right people in your sector and writes each one a personal email in words their industry uses.

All industries

Pick your industry. Each page is written for the people you sell to there.

Every guide below covers the buyers in that sector, the replies you will hear, the moments that make a cold email welcome and the care the sector expects. The product is the same; the words are not.

How it works

One product, tuned to your industry in three steps.

You tell FirstSales who you sell to. It does the daily outbound work in the language of that sector.

  1. 01

Teach it your offer and your buyer

Add your website, documents and the offer you sell. Describe the companies and roles you want to reach in your industry.

  2. 02

    It finds, checks and writes

FirstSales builds the lead list, checks every address and writes each person an email from their company and role.

  3. 03

    You take the replies

Follow-ups go out on time and stop on a reply. Interested replies get your meeting link, all in one inbox.

What stays the same

Whatever you sell, the basics of good outbound do not change.

Every industry page builds on the same product. These parts work the same way in every sector, on every plan.

  • Leads from your ideal customer

Describe the companies and roles you sell to and FirstSales builds the list. Or upload your own list or CRM export.

  • Words from your sector

Each email starts from the prospect's company and role, so a hospital manager and a store owner hear different things.

  • Follow-ups that stop on time

Every prospect gets follow-ups on plan until they reply or opt out, and nobody gets an email after they answer.

  • Mailboxes kept healthy

A 21-day warm-up in three phases, hourly inbox monitoring and a health grade for each mailbox.

  • Clean lists before every send

Each contact is checked before it sends. Contacts marked Dirty are left out, so bounces do not hurt your name.

  • You stay in charge

Read drafts in the approval queue, or switch to manual mode and send your own templates without AI.

Plain guide

How cold email changes from one industry to the next.

The method is the same everywhere. These are the parts you tune for your sector.

  1. 01

    Who signs, and who uses

In some sectors one owner decides. In others a team of buyers, users and approvers share the choice. Each industry page lists the usual roles, what each one cares about and the angle that tends to get a reply. FirstSales writes from each person's role, so two people at one company never get the same email.

  2. 02

    The words they use

Every trade has its own words for the same problem. A contractor talks about bids and change orders; a school talks about terms and budgets. Put those words in your knowledge base and offer, and the AI uses them in place of generic sales language.

  3. 03

    When they buy

Many industries buy on a calendar: renewals, fiscal years, school terms, busy seasons. A short email that lands before the decision is welcome; the same email after it is noise. Each page names the moments that give you a real reason to write.

  4. 04

    What they push back on

The replies you get are often tests, not answers. Each industry has its own: a security review, a busy season, an existing supplier. The pages give a calm next email for each, and the AI can draft those replies for you to approve.

  5. 05

How much care the sector expects

Regulated sectors expect more care with claims and data. Some never want outreach to the people they serve. The basics above apply everywhere; each page adds what that sector tends to expect, as general guidance and never as legal advice.

Set it up once, whatever your industry.

Four parts of the app do the work an outbound team usually does by hand.

  1. Connect

    Connect every mailbox you need

Add Gmail, Outlook or any SMTP mailbox. Mailboxes are unlimited on every plan, so you can spread volume across domains and keep each one at a gentle pace.

    • SPF, DKIM and DMARC checked. With the exact record to add if one is missing.
    • Warm-up starts. 21 days in three phases, in the background.
    • Sending rotates. Volume is shared across all your mailboxes.
  2. Teach

    Teach it your sector once

Add your website, case notes and the words your best seller uses. FirstSales reads them before it writes, so emails sound like someone who knows your industry.

    • Knowledge base. Your site and documents, as context for every email.
    • Offerings. The exact service or product you want to sell.
    • Writing profile. Real emails that got replies, so it learns your voice.
  3. Write

A personal email for each buyer

Pick a tone and a style, add your own instructions and set how follow-ups build on each other. Read drafts before they send, or let them go.

    • Follow-ups that build. Each one can reference the last and change the angle.
    • Approval queue. Approve, edit or reject drafts before they send.
    • Manual mode. Send your own templates, without AI.
  4. Reply

    Every reply in one inbox

Replies from all your mailboxes land in one place, sorted by what needs you. Interested prospects are offered your meeting link.

    • One inbox for all mailboxes. No logging in to ten accounts.
    • Stops on reply or opt-out. The sequence ends as soon as someone answers.
    • Meetings offered for you. Interested replies get your booking link.
In every industry

Some rules hold in every sector. Start here, then read your industry's page.

B2B cold email is allowed in many places when done with care, but rules differ by country and some sectors expect more. These are general truths most teams follow wherever they sell.

  • Say who you areUse your real name, your company and a working reply address. Never hide who sent the email.
  • Write to people about their workContact a person in their work role, about a problem of that role. Never write to consumers or patients with a business pitch.
  • Make saying no easyOffer a simple way to opt out and honour it. FirstSales stops follow-ups when someone replies or opts out.
  • Keep claims to what is trueNo invented results, customers or promises. The knowledge base keeps the AI on the facts you give it.
  • Know why you hold the dataIn the EU and UK, a named person's work email is still personal data. Keep a clear reason for each contact.
  • Send gentlyLow volume per mailbox, warmed-up domains and checked lists protect your name in every industry.

This is general information, not legal advice. FirstSales gives you the tools to send with care; you decide who to contact and are responsible for following the rules where you and your prospects are.

Before you send

A checklist for any industry

Run through it before your first campaign goes out, whatever you sell.

  • One sector and two or three buyer roles picked
  • Your offer and the sector's words in the knowledge base
  • Cold email sent from separate domains
  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC set on every sending domain
  • Warm-up running, ramping over 21 days
  • Every contact checked and Dirty contacts left out
  • A short first email with one easy question
  • A meeting link ready for interested replies
“One of the biggest pains in cold email is making sure that you have your DNS setup correctly. Firstsales has created a system to make sure you have done this correctly.”

01Does FirstSales work for my industry?

If you sell to businesses and can describe the companies and roles you want to reach, yes. The 18 guides above cover the most common sectors, and the same product works for others.

02Is the product different for each industry?

No. Every plan has the same features. What changes is what you teach it: your offer, your sector's words and the roles you write to. The AI writes from that.

03Can I sell to several industries at once?

Yes. Run a campaign per sector, each with its own offer and instructions. Workspaces are unlimited, so you can keep each market apart if you like.

04Is cold email legal in regulated industries?

B2B cold email is allowed in many places when done with care, but rules differ by country and sector. Each industry page has general guidance. It is not legal advice; check the rules where you and your prospects are.

05Will the emails sound like they know my sector?

They use what you give them. Add your website, documents and offer to the knowledge base and the AI writes from those facts. You can read every draft before it sends.

06How much does it cost?

Plans start at $29/mo with warm-up, list cleaning and monitoring included. Try it for $1 for 3 days, and cancel any time from your dashboard.

Install with AI

Your coding agent sets up the FirstSales CLI and skills for you.

Prompt for Claude Code

I'm setting up FirstSales (https://firstsales.io), an AI outbound sales platform: campaigns, contacts, a reply inbox, deliverability and lead signals. Help me get my workspace sending real, good emails end to end, from Claude Code.

Read these first so you know how FirstSales works:
- Developer docs and API: https://developer.firstsales.io
- CLI: https://www.npmjs.com/package/@firstsales.io/cli
- Skills for coding agents: https://github.com/firstsalesio/firstsales-skills (read README.md and GUIDE.md)

Setup
1. Install the CLI: npm install -g @firstsales.io/cli
2. Install the FirstSales skills:
   claude plugin marketplace add firstsalesio/firstsales-skills
   claude plugin install firstsales@firstsales
3. Ask me if I already have a FirstSales account. If not, send me to https://app.firstsales.io to sign up.
4. Ask me to create an API key under Settings → API → API Keys, with only the scopes we need.
Never ask me to paste the key into this chat. Tell me to run this in my own terminal, so the key stays hidden:
   read -rs FS_KEY && firstsales auth login --api-key "$FS_KEY"; unset FS_KEY
5. Run `firstsales whoami` and tell me which workspace and organisation we are connected to.

Then ask me about my business: what I sell, who I sell to (roles, company size, countries), my best customers, and what I use today for outbound (tools, lists, mailboxes). Walk me through:
1. Teaching FirstSales my business: website, offer, proof points and case studies in the knowledge base, so the AI writes like someone who knows the product.
2. Connecting my sending mailboxes and checking my sending domain: SPF, DKIM, DMARC and warm-up. If anything is unhealthy, tell me the exact DNS record to add.
3. Bringing in contacts: import my CSV or CRM export into a clean list, remove duplicates and bad emails, and block domains I must never email (customers, competitors, my own).
4. Building my first campaign: the right list, senders, steps and timing. Write the sequence with me, show me the drafts, and do not launch until I say yes.
5. Setting up Signals if it fits: find people engaging with LinkedIn posts about topics my buyers care about, and turn them into leads.
6. Inviting my team and giving each person the right access.

Once campaigns run, show me how to work the reply inbox from here: which replies need an answer, draft responses in my voice, and move good conversations into deals. If I use Cal.com, connect it so follow-ups can offer my booking link (not the first email).

Throughout, as you learn about my business, proactively suggest and help create:
- Reply templates for the questions and objections my prospects are likely to raise, based on my product, site and codebase if you can see them.
- Campaign ideas and segments worth testing, with the reason for each.

Safety rules:
- Show every change as a dry run (--dry-run) first and wait for my yes. Never send emails, launch campaigns or delete anything without my yes.
- Tell me before anything that spends credits, and how many.

Be opinionated. If the docs give a sensible default, just use it. Don't make me choose between five options.
