Social Media Conduct Policy

This policy explains how FirstSales behaves on its official social media channels and communities, and the rules we expect everyone who takes part to follow. It covers every space FirstSales runs on X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, plus any linked community forums or groups.

1.Purpose and scope

This policy covers every social media account and community space that FirstSales runs. That includes our official accounts on X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, and any community groups, forums or discussion boards linked from firstsales.io.

It applies to three groups: (1) followers and visitors who interact with FirstSales content on any platform; (2) members of any community space that FirstSales hosts or moderates; and (3) FirstSales team members and contractors who post, comment or engage for the company.

The goal is to keep our social channels safe, constructive and useful for the B2B sales people, founders and growth teams who use FirstSales for cold email outreach, mailbox warm-up and deliverability.

If you are not sure whether a channel or community space falls under this policy, treat it as covered. If in doubt, ask us at firstsales@support.communicate.so.

2.What we promise you

FirstSales aims to behave on social media the way we behave everywhere: honest, open, helpful and respectful. We hold our own team to the same rules we ask of our community.

  • We will answer real questions and feedback quickly and helpfully.
  • We will never make misleading claims about our features, pricing or performance in our official posts.
  • We will admit mistakes openly and correct wrong information about FirstSales quickly.
  • We will not post hostile or belittling comments about competitors, customers or individuals.
  • We will say clearly when content is promotional, sponsored or part of a partnership.
  • We will protect the privacy of anyone who contacts us through social channels, and never share their details publicly without their clear consent.

Our social channels exist to share product updates, deliverability advice, cold outreach tips and industry insight. We try to add real value to every conversation instead of using our channels only to promote ourselves.

3.How we expect community members to behave

When you engage with FirstSales on any social platform or community space, please follow these rules. They keep conversations useful and welcoming for everyone.

  1. Be respectful. Treat other members, FirstSales staff and outside parties politely, even when you disagree.
  2. Stay on topic. Keep discussions about cold outreach, email deliverability, sales tools or topics FirstSales has raised. Off-topic threads make the community less useful.
  3. Give useful feedback. Criticism of FirstSales products or practices is welcome. Personal attacks, inflammatory language and bad-faith complaints are not.
  4. Be honest. Do not misrepresent who you are, your experience with the product or facts about the industry.
  5. Respect privacy. Do not post personal or confidential information about yourself or others in public threads.
  6. Help each other. If you know something that can help another member, share it freely.

Members who follow these rules help FirstSales build a space that is useful for people at every level of experience.

4.What is not allowed

The behavior below is not allowed on any channel or community that FirstSales runs. If you break these rules, we may remove your content, restrict your account or ban you permanently, at our own discretion.

  • Harassment, bullying or targeted abuse of any person or group, including FirstSales employees and moderators.
  • Hate speech, discriminatory language, or content that demeans people because of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age or any other protected trait.
  • Threats of violence, or content that encourages harm against any person or group.
  • Spam, including repeated posts, mass tagging and unwanted direct messages promoting unrelated products or services.
  • Scams, phishing attempts or deceptive schemes of any kind.
  • Unrequested self-promotion, affiliate links or cold pitches in comments or community threads without our permission first.
  • Sharing other people's personal data without their clear consent, including names, email addresses, phone numbers or anything else that could identify a private person.
  • Pretending to be FirstSales, one of our employees, or any other person or brand.
  • Sharing illegal content, including pirated software, stolen data or material that breaks the law.
  • Spreading false information on purpose about FirstSales products, pricing or capabilities, or making false factual claims about competitors or other parties.

These are examples, not a complete list. FirstSales may moderate any content or behavior that we reasonably decide harms the safety, integrity or purpose of our community spaces.

5.Zero tolerance for harassment and abuse

FirstSales has zero tolerance for harassment, hate speech and abuse of any kind. We will remove any account that does these things from our community spaces at once, with no warning. There are no exceptions.

Harassment includes, among other things, repeatedly targeting a person with hostile messages, coordinated pile-ons, doxxing (publishing private information to scare or harm someone), sexual harassment, or any pattern of behavior meant to make another person feel unsafe or unwelcome.

If another member harasses you on a channel FirstSales runs, please report it straight away using the steps in the moderation section below. If the harassment includes credible threats of harm, please also contact local police and the platform's own trust and safety team.

FirstSales moderators will not step into personal disputes between people outside our community spaces. We can only moderate what happens on the channels we run.

6.Rules on spam, promotion and pitching

FirstSales channels are spaces for real conversation about outreach and deliverability. To keep them that way, we have clear rules on promotion.

  • Do not spam our channels with repeated posts, bulk mentions or copy-pasted messages, whatever the subject.
  • Please do not cold-pitch products or services to other members in comments or direct messages. We may treat it as spam.
  • Sharing useful resources, tools or content is welcome, but context matters. We will remove links posted with no explanation or relevance.
  • If you are a FirstSales affiliate, reseller or partner and want to promote that relationship publicly, say so clearly in any post or comment where the relationship matters.
  • FirstSales staff will never ask members to send money, buy gift cards or share login details through social media. Any account that claims to be FirstSales support and asks for these things is a fraud.

Approved partners and community contributors who want to share promotional content on FirstSales channels should first write to firstsales@support.communicate.so so we can agree on the right format and disclosure wording.

7.Intellectual property and content you post

Everyone in FirstSales social channels must respect intellectual property rights. Do not post copyrighted text, images, audio or video without the owner's permission. Do not copy competitors' private materials, share leaked or confidential documents, or share software without a valid license.

When you post content to a channel or community FirstSales runs, including comments, posts, testimonials, case study material or creative work, you give FirstSales a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to copy, share, display and adapt it for purposes that fit our business, including marketing, product education and community highlights.

  • You keep ownership of the content you create and post.
  • FirstSales will not sell your content to anyone else.
  • We may reshare, quote or feature your public posts on our channels. We will credit you where we can.
  • You confirm that the content you post is your own or that you have the right to share it, and that it does not break anyone else's rights.

If you believe content on a channel FirstSales runs breaks your intellectual property rights, contact firstsales@support.communicate.so with enough detail for us to look into it and reply.

8.Moderation and enforcement

FirstSales moderates its social channels and community spaces as well as we reasonably can. We may not see every post as it happens, but we take every reported violation seriously and aim to act quickly.

Moderation steps we may take include:

  • Hiding or removing content that breaks this policy.
  • Sending a warning to the account responsible.
  • Stopping a user from posting or commenting for a while.
  • Blocking or banning an account from our channels for good.
  • Reporting serious violations to the platform's trust and safety team or, where the law requires it, to the police.

To report a violation, use the platform's own reporting tools, or email a description of the problem to firstsales@support.communicate.so with the subject line 'Community Report'. Include the link or a screenshot of the content and a short note on what is wrong.

If you think we moderated you by mistake, you can appeal by emailing firstsales@support.communicate.so with the subject line 'Moderation Appeal'. A FirstSales team member who was not part of the first decision reviews each appeal. We try to answer appeals within five business days. Our decision on an appeal is final.

We cannot promise a set response time for moderation requests sent through the social platforms themselves. For urgent safety concerns, please contact the platform and local authorities as well as telling us.

9.Other platforms, changes to this policy and contact

FirstSales runs channels on platforms owned by other companies, including X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Each platform has its own terms of service, community rules and privacy policy. When you engage with FirstSales there, you must also follow those platform rules, which apply separately from this policy.

  • FirstSales is not responsible for platform outages, algorithm changes or platform decisions that affect how visible our content or community spaces are.
  • We are not responsible for other people's content that appears next to ours on these platforms, including ads the platform shows.
  • Links to outside sites shared in our channels are for information only. FirstSales does not endorse those sites and is not responsible for their content.

FirstSales may update this policy at any time. When we make important changes, we will update the 'Last updated' date at the top of this page. If you keep taking part in our social channels and communities after an update, you accept the updated policy. Please read this policy from time to time.

For questions, concerns or reports about this policy, contact us at firstsales@support.communicate.so. We aim to answer every policy question within three business days.
