A cleaner sidebar and stats that count up as they load

The sidebar navigation was rebuilt with clearer active states, and dashboard and billing numbers now roll into place as they load instead of appearing all at once.

Two small changes make it easier to see where you are in FirstSales and easier to notice when a number on your dashboard has actually changed. The sidebar navigation has been rebuilt, and the numbers on your dashboard and billing pages now animate into place as they load.

What changed

The sidebar navigation has been rebuilt with clearer active states, so it's obvious at a glance which section of the app you're currently in. The visual proportions of the sidebar, its spacing, motion, and the hairline borders that separate sections, have been reworked to feel tighter and more deliberate, so the navigation itself gets out of the way instead of competing for attention with the page you're actually looking at.

On top of the navigation rebuild, dashboard and billing numbers now count up into place as they load, instead of just appearing on the screen fully formed. When a stat like your reply count, your credit balance, or a billing total loads, you see it roll from zero (or from its previous value) up to the final number, rather than the figure just snapping into view.

How to use it

The sidebar changes apply automatically across the app; you'll notice the updated spacing and active-state styling as you navigate between sections like your inbox, campaigns, contacts, and settings. The section you're currently viewing is marked clearly in the sidebar, so if you've ever lost track of which page you were on after a long session of clicking around, that's easier to check now with a glance at the left-hand navigation.

The animated stats apply automatically wherever numeric stats are shown on your dashboard and billing pages. When you load a page with these values, or when a number updates, for example after a campaign finishes sending or your credit balance changes, watch the number count into place rather than expecting it to load instantly. No setting needs to be turned on for this; it's the default behavior now.

Why it matters

Picture a normal support afternoon: you're bouncing between a contact record, a campaign you're mid-edit on, and a reply that just came in, five or six clicks in a row without a pause to reorient. That's exactly the situation where a vague sidebar costs you time. If the active-section marker is subtle or inconsistent, you end up clicking into settings just to confirm you're not still inside the campaign you thought you left, then clicking back. The clearer active state removes that extra confirmation click from a pattern you repeat dozens of times in a normal day.

The animated stats solve a different, more specific problem: telling a stale page from a fresh one. Say you just approved a batch of drafts and want to confirm your reply count updated, or you sent a large campaign and want to see your credit balance reflect the deduction. A number that simply appears gives you no way to tell whether you're looking at a page that loaded before your action or one that reloaded and is still showing the old figure. Watching the number count from its previous value settles that without you needing to refresh the page again just to be sure, and the direction of the count, rising or falling, tells you which way the number moved before you've even read the new total.

Both changes are aimed at the same kind of moment: the few seconds where you're not reading content closely, you're just confirming state, where am I, did that number actually change. Getting that confirmation wrong, or having to double-check it by hand, is a small tax that adds up over a day of fast navigation. Neither change makes FirstSales do anything new; they make the everyday act of checking where you are and what changed take one less step than it used to.

If you're the kind of user who keeps a dashboard tab open in the background while working from your inbox in another, the animated count is also what tells you, at a glance when you switch tabs, whether that background tab has actually refreshed with current numbers or is still showing whatever loaded when you first opened it.

There's also a screen-share angle worth naming directly. If you're walking a teammate or a prospect through FirstSales live, a sidebar that clearly marks where you are means the person watching doesn't have to ask "wait, which page is this" every time you click somewhere new, and a stat that visibly counts up gives them something concrete to watch happen in real time instead of a number that just silently changed between one screenshot and the next.

The same logic applies if you manage more than one workspace, agency accounts working across several client instances, for example. Switching between accounts multiplies the chance of losing track of exactly where you are, since the sections look similar from workspace to workspace. A sidebar that marks your current section clearly, consistently, in every workspace you touch, cuts down on the specific mistake of assuming you're editing one client's campaign when you're actually still inside another's, which is a costlier error than momentary confusion inside a single account.

None of this is about redesigning how FirstSales works. It's about the handful of seconds, repeated many times a day, where you're not doing the work itself but confirming you're set up correctly to do it, right section, right number, right account. Shaving that down doesn't show up as a headline feature, but it's the kind of change you notice by its absence: the day you stop having to double-check.

Availability

Both the sidebar rebuild and the animated stats are live for all accounts now, with no setup required.
