Upload documents to a knowledge base
Not everything your AI should know lives on a public web page. You can now upload documents — PDFs, Word files, slide decks and more — straight into a knowledge base.
Some of the most useful context for outreach never makes it onto a public web page. Sales decks, one-pagers, battle cards, product spec sheets, case studies shared as PDFs — that knowledge usually sits in a folder somewhere. Now it can sit in your knowledge base, where the AI can actually use it.
Bring your files into the knowledge base
Open the Documents tab of any knowledge base and drop your files in. We extract the text, structure it, and index it next to your crawled web sources, so the AI draws on everything together when it writes.

Formats and handling
The uploader is built for the documents teams actually share:
- Documents — PDFs, Word files, plain text and rich text.
- Presentations — slide decks, where the text on each slide is pulled out and indexed.
- Spreadsheets and data — tabular files, so structured facts come through cleanly.
- Large files — extraction runs in the background, with live progress in the Status column so you always know where each file stands.
Text is pulled out faithfully, including from scanned and image-heavy PDFs, then chunked and indexed the same way crawled pages are — so a fact from a slide deck is just as retrievable as one from your website.
How to use it
- Open a knowledge base and switch to the Documents tab.
- Drag files onto the upload area, or click to browse and select several at once.
- Watch each file move through Processing to Ready as its text is extracted and indexed.
- Mix and match — uploaded documents and crawled URLs live side by side in the same base.
Why it matters
Your best material is often the material you've never published. A pricing sheet explains your packaging better than any landing page; a case study PDF has the proof points that win replies. By letting you upload those files directly, FirstSales can ground its outreach in the real, specific details of your business — not just whatever happens to be on your public site. The result is email that sounds like it was written by someone who actually read your sales deck, because, in effect, it was.
Uploads are processed privately for your workspace and never shared across accounts. You can remove a file whenever you like, and the knowledge base re-indexes to match, so what the AI knows always reflects exactly the documents you've chosen to give it. Together with crawled web sources, uploaded files let you assemble a single, complete picture of your business in one place — the public story and the internal detail, side by side.
