Preview emails before they send
Template campaigns now have an email preview that renders your message with real contact data before launch.
Template campaigns now let you see exactly what your contacts will see before a single email leaves the outbox. The preview renders your full sequence with real contact data — first name, company, every custom field you've used as a merge tag — so you can catch problems at the template level rather than discovering them in a reply that says your name tag broke.
See exactly what your contacts will see
Open the preview from the campaign builder, pick a contact on the left, and the entire sequence renders with their real data. Flip through multiple contacts to spot-check personalization at scale.
Preview emails before they send
How to use it
- Open a template campaign's Workflow tab and hit Preview (or press ⇧P).
- Pick a contact on the left to render every step in the sequence with their real data — first name, company, any custom field you've used as a merge tag.
- Before your contact list is populated, sample data fills in so you can check layout and copy even during early setup.
- Flip through multiple contacts to spot-check personalization at scale — a field that renders perfectly for one contact may be blank or malformed for another.
- Use Send Test Email to deliver a real copy to your own inbox and see exactly what the recipient's email client will render.
Why it matters for campaign quality
A broken merge field in email one of a five-step sequence is the kind of mistake that's obvious in hindsight and invisible in a static editor. Without a live preview, the only way to catch it was to send a test email to yourself for each contact — or, more commonly, not catch it at all until a prospect received a message that opened with Hi {{first_name}},.
Personalization is one of the highest-leverage variables in cold outreach. An opener that uses a prospect's real first name and company outperforms a generic greeting by a meaningful margin — but only when the merge field actually renders. A garbled first name in the opener kills credibility before the prospect reads past line one, and no amount of well-crafted body copy recovers from that first impression.
The ability to flip through multiple contacts in the preview also reveals something a single test email cannot: inconsistency across your list. Contacts with incomplete data, unexpected capitalization, or fields that don't match the field name in your template show up immediately. Catching those before launch means every email in the campaign goes out clean.
Availability
Email preview is available on all template campaigns. AI Autopilot campaigns are not affected — the AI drafts per-contact at send time and the existing approval flow handles review there.
