# Find and add leads without leaving Chat

Ask Chat for the leads you want and it probes, harvests and adds them to a list in place, showing counts and results as cards in the conversation.

Find and add leads without leaving Chat

Chat approving a lead harvest, with the search it will run and the credit cost

You can now ask Chat to find leads. Describe who you are looking for and it checks how many exist, pulls them, and adds them to a list, showing what it did as cards in the conversation.

## What changed

Chat could talk about lead generation and could not do it. Ask it to find you fifty agency owners in Manchester and it would explain how to use AI Leads, which is a poor answer to a request that was already specific enough to act on.

Chat now carries out the search. You describe the prospects, it runs a probe to see how many match, tells you the count, and pulls them when you confirm. The leads land in a list, and the conversation shows a card for each step with the numbers attached.

The cards are the part worth noticing. Each one shows what was searched, how many matched, how many were added to the list, and how many were dropped and why. Duplicates against contacts you already have are reported rather than silently skipped.

## How to use it

Ask in plain language. "Find me 100 marketing directors at software companies in Germany" is enough. You do not need to structure the request or know what the fields are called.

Chat will come back with a count before pulling anything. This is the same probe available in AI Leads, and it is your chance to redirect. If the count is far off what you expected, say so and describe the adjustment rather than starting over. "Only companies over 50 people" or "exclude anyone with assistant in the title" refines the same search.

When the count looks right, confirm and it pulls the leads. The result card tells you how many were added to the list, how many were duplicates of contacts you already had, and how many were filtered out.

You can name an existing list to add to, or let it create a new one.

## Why it matters

Finding leads and deciding who to target are the same activity, and they used to happen in different places. You would think through the target profile in one context, then rebuild that thinking as a set of search criteria somewhere else, losing most of the reasoning along the way.

Doing it in one conversation keeps the reasoning attached to the result. When the count comes back wrong, you are still in the discussion that produced the criteria, so adjusting is a sentence rather than a rebuild.

It also lowers the cost of exploring. Checking whether a market segment is large enough to bother with is a question you ask more often when it takes one message. That kind of quick check is how you find out that a segment you assumed was small is actually the largest one available to you.

## Reading the cards

The probe card shows the criteria as they were understood and the count that matched. Read the criteria, not only the number. If Chat interpreted "enterprise" as companies over a thousand people and you meant over two hundred, the count will be wrong and the criteria line is where you will see why.

The harvest card shows added, duplicate, and rejected counts. Added went to your list. Duplicate matched a contact you already have, so nothing was created and nothing was charged twice. Rejected did not meet the criteria on closer inspection.

A large rejected count usually means the search was broader than the criteria you described, and it is worth tightening before running it again.

## Credits

Probes and pulls through Chat draw on the same credit balance as AI Leads, at the same rates. A probe costs two credits. Nothing is charged for a search that returns no results.

Chat will not pull leads without confirming with you first. There is no path where a request results in credits being spent before you have seen the count and agreed to it.

## When to use Chat and when to use AI Leads

Chat suits exploration and one off requests. You are thinking out loud, you want a rough count, you want to check whether a segment is worth pursuing.

AI Leads suits precision. When you know exactly what you want, the form gives you every field at once and no interpretation step between what you meant and what was searched.

Neither is better. They draw on the same data and the same credits, so use whichever fits the state you are in.

## Correcting a misreading

If the criteria card shows something you did not mean, correct the specific part rather than restating the whole request. "Not Germany, Austria" is enough, and it keeps the rest of the search intact.

If Chat has misread the same thing twice, switch to AI Leads and set the fields directly. Repeating yourself in different words rarely helps, and the form removes the interpretation step entirely.

## Duplicates

Chat checks new leads against contacts you already have before adding them. A match is reported as a duplicate and skipped, so you do not end up with the same person twice across two lists.

This matters more than it sounds. Sending the same opening email twice to one person is the kind of mistake that ends a conversation before it starts, and it happens most often when two lists were built weeks apart for overlapping segments.

The duplicate count on the result card is also a useful signal in itself. A high one means you have covered this segment before, which is worth knowing before you build a campaign around it.

## What it will not do

It will not send anything. Finding leads and adding them to a list is where it stops, and starting a campaign remains a separate deliberate step.

It will not delete or overwrite existing contacts. A duplicate is skipped, never merged over the top of what you already have.

## Availability

Available now in Chat on all plans, using the same lead credits as AI Leads.
